Nancy Ann Dearr

On January 29, 2021, peacefully surrounded by her husband, daughter, and granddaughter, Nancy Ann Dearr went to be with Jesus. She had been battling dementia for about 4 years, but her spark had never left, she was still kind and sweet and smart even to the end. She was an amazing and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Nancy was fully devoted to Jesus and made a wonderful example of how to spread the love, joy, and peace of Jesus in her everyday life. She left an amazing legacy of faith, music, and laughter. Nancy Ann Dearr was born April 15, 1936 in Colma, Michigan to her parents Manley and Mattie Lou Waggoner. Nancy was the second eldest of six Waggoner children. She is survived by her three sisters: Jackie Yagel, Dianne Hallet and Phyllis Workman. Edith Mae, Nancy's younger sister passed away from Polio at the age of 10. The youngest of the Waggoner siblings; Kenneth, passed away in 2017. At the age of 18, Nancy moved west from Indiana to California. It was here where she met her husband Warren Dearr, they were married in 1955.Their marriage was full of music, laughter, scriptures, and fun. Later, Warren and Nancy welcomed their two children: Linda Lee Dearr (Goodman) and Randall Warren Dearr. Nancy loved her children dearly and was a devoted mother who was immensely proud of both her children. Nancy and Warren also have 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and Nancy was a supportive, loving, and fun grandmother who will be dearly missed by each one. Nancy had a long career as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper. Her musically inclined brain was also excellent with numbers. She was a wonderful asset and brought a joyful spirit to each office setting she was a part of. Nancy also regularly volunteered at church to sing in the choir and to play the piano. She was an incredibly talented musician who absolutely loved to sing and dance and play. Perhaps the most important trait of Nancy's was her devotion to Jesus. A farm girl at heart, Nancy was always up with the sun, and so she would take that time to do her devotions. Every single morning Nancy would sit in her living room and read scriptures, do bible studies, or pray. She was a prayer warrior and would absolutely pray for everyone in her life especially in times of trouble. Nancy truly embodied the life of a Christ follower and was a great example of what it looks like to live out your faith. She would want everyone to know that they were loved by not only her, but JESUS. It is this legacy and goal that Nancy has passed on to all of us. Let us each strive to remember her by living out our lives with the very same INFECTIOUS JOY that Nancy did. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, 1:00 PM, at Centerville Presbyterian Church, 4360 Central Avenue, Fremont.
