Erlinda Dela Cruz Dimen

Erlinda Dela Cruz Dimen died peacefully in her home on April 9, 2021, in Newark, California at the age of 84. Erlinda was born on April 14, 1936, in Navotas City, Philippines to Arsenio and Constancia. At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Efren. They were married on Valentine’s Day in 1955. She moved to Olongapo City and raised a family. Over a period of 8 years, the couple welcomed 5 children into their home. Together, they built a home that welcomed anyone and everyone. In November 1999, Erlinda and Efren moved to California. She was widowed in the year 2000 and lived with her daughter Erlinda and family in Newark, California until her death. Erlinda continued to be a presence in the lives of relatives and extended family, by helping to care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as her own. Erlinda or “Lola Linda” or “Mommy” as many referred to her, loved to take care of people. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly and everyone who knew her undoubtedly felt loved and cherished. One of the many ways she showed her affection was through her cooking, and she always wanted to make sure everyone else was taken care of before herself. Until her last days, her children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren will remember her as a kind, loving, and selfless individual. Erlinda is survived by her sister: Elvira Cruz in Olongapo City PH, her children: Roberto & his wife Edna in Manteca CA, Edgar & his wife Gloria in Olongapo City PH, Yolando in Olongapo City PH, Erlinda & her husband Greg in Newark CA, Sylvanna & her husband Nestor in Olongapo City PH; her grandchildren: Jason, Kathleen and her husband Elvin, Grace, Dan Michael and his wife Magdalena, Bryan and his wife Caitlin, Thea, Carla and her fiancée Matthy, Vincent and his wife Ira, Dennis, Daniel, Gealine, Trisha, Kevyn, Lindsey; her great-grandchildren: Mimi, Gabby, Corinne, Migo, Maddie, Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband: Efren; her siblings: Ligaya, Conrado, Fedelidad, Renato, Danilo; and her daughter-in-law: Cynthia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, with a Chapel Service at 12:00 PM. Her remains will be flown to the Philippines where she will lay rest next to her husband. A funeral is scheduled for a time TBD in Olongapo City, Philippines. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Erlinda Dela Cruz Dimen’s life. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and sympathies. It is truly appreciated in this time of sorrow.
