Araceli Dizon Pangilinan Nasol

Born in the evening of November 17, 1943 in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Philippines; Araceli was the third eldest child of the late Isidro de Guzman Pangilinan of Mabalacat, Pampanga and Cecilia Frances Dizon of Magalang, Pampanga. Araceli obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines in 1965. She taught grade school at Mabalacat Elementary school. She also taught English at the International School in Tehran, Iran. One of nine children, Araceli is survived by her three siblings: Thelma Pangilinan Cabrera of Pleasanton married to Brian Cabrera, Leonor Pangilinan Garfield of Patterson married to Ted Garfield and Rolando Dizon Pangilinan of Stockton. Araceli met her soul mate, the late Gregorio Nacional Nasol of Camalig, Albay Philippines while attending Far Eastern University; they married in 1967. They were blessed with three children: Franscelle Nasol Zimmerman, Shahry John Pangilinan Nasol married to Farah Ann Nasol, Gregory Vien Pangilinan Nasol married to Virginia Supnet. The jewels of her life were her five grandchildren: Amber Jinette Zimmerman, Teya Lani Nasol, Tatum Jiselle Nasol, Taryn Shahry Nasol, and Tallyah Mialani Nasol. One could say Araceli lived an “international life” having lived in such countries as Laos in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam war during the early 1970’s and then in Iran between 1974 to 1978. She never lost the travel bug as she visited countries such as Cost Rica, Greece, Thailand, Holland and Prague. She loved to ballroom dance. She was always ready to teach anyone interested how to properly do a dance move. Even in her last days, her eyes smiled as she swayed to the music while watching Mama Mia during the dancing and singing portion. She also loved visiting the Calistoga hot springs and getting massaged with her daughter and nieces. When not dancing or getting massaged, she loved to join her friends to play cards, play Maj Jung and sometimes take bus trips to the casinos. Araceli defined her life by living it to the fullest. She defined her life with her strength. She defined her life with her integrity. Araceli defined her life with her love and compassion for her family and for others. And in the end, she was surrounded by those she loved most. Just as she wanted. Mom…Thank you for teaching us how to live, love and laugh! You will live in our hearts until we meet again! Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 4 to 8PM at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd, Fremont and with a Vigil Service at 6:00PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, August 24, 11AM at St Anne's Catholic Church, 32223 Cabello St, Union City. Burial to be followed at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, Hayward.
